About Me and Contact Info

“Music remains one of my most reliable inspirations for story, and I strive to find the same complexity, rhythms and lyrical clarity in my writing as any great Dylan or Mozart piece might have.”

Rambler turned sculptor turned painter turned poet turned novelist turned stone mason turned screenwriter turned muffin maker turned rambler turned beggar.

My screenplays have won awards, but more important is that the films made from them have won awards: best of show, best actor and actress, best cinematography, youth and children’s awards, artistic vision and outstanding excellence, to name a few. As screenwriting is an integral part of the collabortive art and science of film, these are the awards, nominations and accolades that matter to me most.

I write character-driven screenplays and novels with a tendancy toward strong roles for women and children, and I show no fear in exploring humanity’s nitty and gritty underbelly. Visit my GRABS page for a peek at several of my films.

I could be a writer very easily. I am not a writer. I am a screenwriter, which

is half a filmmaker … but it is not an art form, because screenplays are

not works of art. They are invitations to others to collaborate on a

work of art.
